OASIS
OF THE SEAS
PHOTO TOUR
AND
COMMENTARY
The restaurant staff serenade diners during
dinner on a sea day.
Oasis has some 25 restaurants. On this page, we
cover the main dining rooms. On subsequent
pages, we will cover casual dining venues and
specialty restaurants.
During the 2014, the Opus Main Dining Room
was transformed in anticipation of the
introduction of the Dynamic Dining concept.
That concept had premiered on Quantum of the
Seas but did not receive a favorable initial
reaction. Consequently, it was decided to
postpone the introduction of Dynamic Dining on
Oasis indefinitely.
However, the decoration of the dining room was
changed so that each level of the room now
bears the name and a resemblance to one of the
restaurants on Quantum.
Despite these physical changes, the operation of
the main dining room remains much as it has
since Oasis entered service. One level, the
American Icon Restaurant, is open for breakfast
and lunch (sea days only) on an open seating
basis.
For dinner, two levels (the Grande and American
Icon) follow the traditional system of having two
seatings with each guests assigned to a specific
table. The other level (Silk) operates on a
flexible dining system where guests can dine any
time the restaurant is open. Reservations are
encouraged, however.
All thelevels follow the same menu. (See our
menus page).

In addition to the changes made to the former
Opus Dining Room, a new restaurant was
added for guests staying in certain suites. The
Coastal Kitchen is located on the
starboard side of what had been the Viking
Crown Lounge.
