Accompanying the Dream part
way during her first voyage to
Florida was the newly
commissioned USS New York
(LPD 21).
Accompanying the
Dream for nearly all of
her first voyage to
Florida and the
Bahamas was
Carnival Pride, the
two ships forming a Fun
Ship Flotilla.
Unlike most passenger
ships where the lifeboats
hang above the outdoor
promenade, Dream's hang
below the promenade.
NOt only is this a more
efficient arrangment for
lowering the boats but it
makes the promenade,
called the Lanai on the
Dream, a more pleasant
area.
