CARNIVAL
DESTINY
PHOTO TOUR AND
COMMENTARY
DINING
CARNIVAL DESTINY has two main dining rooms. The
Universe Dining Room maintains the passenger ship
tradition of having seatings and reserved tables for dinner.
Breakfast and lunch (sea days only) are open seating.
The Universe Dining Room is at the stern of the ship, is two
levels and holds 1,114 passengers. While this is a large
room, there is considerable variety in the tables. There are
large tables in the central area (above) for groups and for
people who want to join groups. On the sides of the room
are smaller tables (left). At the back are tables with
spectacular views over the ship's stern (below left). On the
balcony there are small intimate tables looking over the
central dining area (below).
The Galaxy Dining Room is smaller
than the Universe, holding 706
passengers. It is located amidships and
thus does not have the benefit of having
windows on three sides as in the
Universe. However, like the Universe it
is two decks high with a balcony and
offers a variety of table arrangements.
The lower section of the Galaxy follows
the traditional system (i.e. the same as in
the Universe) for dinner. However, the
upper section has "Your Time Dining".
Guests who sign up for this option can
dine anytime between 5:45 and 9:30 and
sit with whomever they like.
The Sun and Sea Restaurant is the ship's buffet. It
can accommodate 1,252 hungry souls in its two levels of
seating.
Part of the buffet area includes Happy Valley, which
specializes in Asian cuisine (below left) and the New
York Deli (below), which provides sandwiches.
In the Sun & Sea Pool area, one finds DESTINY's 24-hour Pizzeria (left) and the Grille for hamburgers and hot dogs (right).
Two more specialized venues: the Sushi Bar (left)
and the Café on the Way, which offers specialty
coffees and pastries.
