Vision of the Seas was the last of the six ships
built in Royal Caribbean's Vision class.  She
was one of the four Vision class ships built in
France.  (The other two
Enchantment of the Seas
and
Grandeur of the Seas  were built in Finland).
As a result, while Vision is very similar to the
other ships in her class, they are not all identical.

The design features extension use of glass in the
public areas.  This allows in lots of natural light
during the day as well as allowing for
impressive views.

Vision's decor is contemporary.  Artful use has
been made of woods and of art work, making for
an upscale but relaxed atmosphere.

While Vision was considered a very large ship
when she entered service in 1998, ships have
become much bigger since then.  Consequently,
Vision now offers a more intimate version of the
Royal Caribbean cruise experience.  She is not
lacking in facilities but the emphasis is more on
the personal touch than on spectacular features.

One of the things that strikes many guests about
Vision is how well-maintained the ship has been.
Vision's career has taken her to such far flung
places as Europe, South America, Alaska and
the Caribbean.  Yet, she does not look worn.

Because Vision does itineraries in diverse parts
of the world, the demographics of her
passengers varies.  However, she does tend to
attract experienced cruisers including a high
proportion of guests who are in the upper tiers
of Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor loyalty
program.

Above: The center of the ship's
public area is a soaring
atrium called
The Centrum.

At its base is a contemporary
style lobby that also serves as
an entertainment venue.  On
the various terraces
overlooking the lobby, you will
find the guest services desk,
the shore excursions desk, the
internet cafe, the library, the
photo gallery and various
other public spaces.
Sitting side by side in the Centrum on Deck Five is Explorations (left), where guests can book shore excursions and transfers,
and the
Guest Services Desk, the ship's reception desk (right).

Higher up the Centrum on Deck Seven is the
Crown and Anchor Study (below left).  This is both the future cruise sales office
and the headquarters for Royal Caribbean's loyalty program, the Crown and Anchor Society.

On Deck Six is the
International Ambassador's desk, whih serves as an additional point of contact for guests from non-English
speaking nations.

Vision's public areas are enhanced by a large art
collection.  For the most part, the works are modern
and/or abstract but there are some traditional pieces,
usually with a maritime theme.
