The 1,000 seat Princess Theater is
bigger than the theaters on previous
Princess ships. It is equipped with
advanced technology such as large LED
panels that can be used to augment the
scenery for the shows. In addition, the
production cast can interact with
characters appearing on the screens.
Beyond the stage, there is lighting on the
walls of the theater which can be used to
provide effects during the shows.
Four production shows were
commissioned for Royal Princess: Colors
of the World, a virtual and musical journey
to destinations visited by Princess; Sweet
Soul Music, a salute to R&B; What the
World Needs Now, a tribute to the music of
the 1960s; and Spectacular, a musical
The Princess Theater is also used for shows by visiting artists such as:
The Beatlemaniacs, a Beatles tribute band (above left); comedian
Carlos Oscar (above center); and illusionist David Cats (above right).
During the day, the Princess Theater is used for various events
including a lighthearted cooking demonstration by Maitre d'Hotel
Fabio Marcotti and Executive Chef Shaun Candon (right).
The Piazza on Princess ships always serves as an
additional entertainment venue but with more space
in the Piazza on Royal Princess, it is done on a
much grander scale. Not only is there much more
space in the central floor area but there is much
more space for people to watch from the balconies
surrounding the Piazza.
Entertainment in the Piazza includes such things as
dance classes and ballroom dancing (above left);
dance concerts by the Beatlemaniacs (above);
acrobatic performances by Li Lu (right); fruit
carving demonstrations (below right); and at the
captain's reception, the champagne waterfall

A new entertainment venue premiering
on Royal Princess is Princess Live.
This room is a television studio
complete with cameras and a live
audience. Many of the events in this
venue are broadcast over the ship's
television system and/or recorded for
showing at a later date.
Events in Princess Live include such
things as a culinary demonstration by
the ship's chefs (above right); an
enrichment lecture about building
cruise ships by Princess engineer
Chris Joly (right); and a tribute to
Edith Piaf by Pascale Guertin and the
Orphea Trio (left). This venue is also
used for game shows, trivia and
At the stern of the ship is another large entertainment
venue, the Vista Lounge. This venue offers cabaret style
seating for shows such as the Ye Olde Pub Night show by
the ship's production cast and activities staff (above). It is
also used as a venue for performances by visiting artists
Movie lovers can watch recent releases on the giant LED screen at the aft end of the Fountain Pool area. During evening
performances at Movies Under The Stars, popcorn and cookies are served to the audience while they relax in their deck
If you miss a movie on MUTS, it will appear as an on-demand selection on the 42 inch flat screen television in your stateroom.

The Princess Casino is a large venue styled like an
elegant European casino, tasteful, not gaudy. It has
gaming, slot machines and its own bar.
Separating the pools in the main pool area is a
platform. In the evening, jets of water rise up from this
platform and dance to recorded music while colored
lights shine on them.
