At the forward end of the open decks is the
Sanctuary. This adults-only escape concept
debuted on Crown Princess and has since been
extended throughout the Princess fleet.
The Sanctuary on Royal Princess is more than 20
percent larger than those on the previous Princess
ships. It offers premium seating either in the
sunshine or under a sail-like canopy that covers
the forward section.
Serving guests in the Sanctuary are the Serenity
Stewards who provide guests with various flavored
waters, MP3 players with headsets, and serve
afternoon tea. You can also order a light lunch
Therapists from the ship's spa are available to give
massages in the Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary Cabanas provide a luxurious escape that
includes private televisions, refrigerators and premium furniture.
There is an additional charge for the Sanctuary.
The Lotus Spa on Royal Princess is located on Deck Five, forward of the
Passenger Services Desk.
Its centerpiece is the Enclave. This softly-lit area includes a hydrotherapy
pool, thermal ceramic chairs, heated stone beds, sensory showers and
various types of steam rooms and saunas.
The spa on Royal Princess has more treatment rooms than on any previous
Princess ship. It also has two Couples Villas, which are suites with side by
side massage tables, a private sitting area and a bath tub.

Adjoining the spa on Deck 5 is the Salon, which offers
services for men and women.
In a break from the past, the Fitness Center is not located
by the spa but rather high on Deck 17 near the Princess
It is equipped with cardio equipment, including treadmills,
bikes, and elliptical trainers. There are also strength
training machines as well as free weights.
Royal Princess also has a private aerobics studio where
fitness classes are held. (There is a schedule of fitness
classes from one cruise on our daily programs and
