2011 was a landmark year for Grand
Princess. From April into May of that
year, she underwent the largest refit that
Princess Cruises had yet undertaken.
Beyond creating new venues and
re-furbishing existing venues, the refit
changed the profile of the ship. One of
her most distinctive and controversial
features was the nightclub suspended
over the stern of the ship. Admirers
likened it to a spoiler on a sleek sports
cars. Critics claimed that it looked like
the handle of a shopping cart. For a
number of reasons, Princess decided to
remove it during the 2011 refit.
As a result, the look of the exterior of
the ship has changed. This page shows
