The Photo Gallery is in the Tradewinds shopping
area on the starboard side of Deck 6. There are no
walls of printed photos for the guests to search.
Rather, using facial recognition technology, the
photos taken by the ship's photographers are stored
digitally and can be accessed by guests at kiosks in
the photo gallery by swiping their cabin cards. The
Gallery also sells cameras, photo equipment and
The main shopping district on Getaway is on
Deck 8 and is called Tradewinds. It consists of
traditional enclosed shops as well as a series of
counters set in the central corridor. Items for sale
include jewelry, liquor, fashion items and
Getaway is a family-friendly ship and so there are
extensive facilities and age-appropriate programs
devoted to young passengers. (See materials on our
Daily Programs page).
The youngest passengers, six months to 2 years, have
their own Guppies Playroom (right).

There is nothing childish about the Entourage Teen Center
(above). Designed to resemble an adult lounge, this area includes
a dance floor, table games and an video screens.
The ship's Video Arcade (right) has various video games.
Outdoors, there is a separate Kids Aqua Park (populated by
Nickelodeon characters. (below left). Children can also interact
with these characters at various activities and performances during
the voyage (below right).
The Splash Academy covers ages 3 to 12 years.
However, the program is divided into ages 3 to 5, 6 to
9, and 10 to 12. Within this two-deck high facility
there are high tech games and a state of the art cinema
as well as facilities for arts and crafts and other
activities. The programs are supervised by trained
Outdoors on Deck 15 near the Waves Pool is The
Marketplace. Here, items for sale are displayed
on long tables and sold bazaar-style.
Also on Deck 6 is an area that houses the Card Room
(above left) and the Library (above right). In addition to
books, the Library contains some memorabilia from the
Miami Dolphins football team. (The Dolphins Cheerleaders
are the ship's godmothers). Outside in the corridor is a
series of exhibit panels giving the history of Miami as a
cruise port and of Norwegian Cruise Line (right).
