BARS and DINING
The Restaurant Imaq (meaning "the
sea" in Inuwit) is Fram's main dining
Breakfast and lunch are open seating
Scandinavian buffets featuring fish
and Norwegian specilaties.
Dinners are four course meals. Here,
Fram follows the traditional
passenger ship model and has
reserved (assigned) tables. There are
two seatings for dinner.
For between meals, Fram has a cafeteria/bistro (left). Included in
this area are a small shop that sells postcards, sovenirs and sundries
(above) as well as a small bar (lower right).
Oilak (the sky) is a panomarmic salon located atop the ship's navigation
bridge. The windows, which extend around three sides of the room, are floor to
ceiling so as not to obscrure the excellent views. It is a large room with a piano
and facilities for live music and the seating pattern resembles a show
lounge. In addition, the room is served by the larger of Fram's two bars.
The bar also offers tea and cookies.
