Spanning three decks, the Showroom at
Sea is Nieuw Amsterdam's main theater. It
is the venue for production shows, visiting
performers and for the occasional reception.
In addition, once a cruise, Indonesian
members of the crew put on a show that
features traditional dancing as well as the
more contemporary talents of individual
The Crow's Nest located high at the forward end
of the ship is used for activities during the day
including the main trivia contest and the mixology
class. Many guests like to come here during the day
because of the spectacular views. In the evening, it
has a small stage and a dance floor.
The Casino has slot machines, gaming tables and electronic gaming. The Casino Bar
doubles as a sports bar with television screens showing sporting events.
The Queens Lounge is a multi-purpose venue that hosts
activities, gatherings and dancing. The room also has its own
bar. This room is also The Culinary Art Center complete
with a demonstration kitchen. Guest chefs as well as Nieuw
Amsterdam's chefs give gourmet cooking demonstrations and
Northern Lights is the disco. It has
themed events such as a Rock and Roll Party.
Explorer's Lounge is located next to the main dining room thus making it a
convenient spot for before or after dinner cocktails.
The Silk Den is the bar for the Tamarind specialty restaurant. The decor is contemporary but with a
traditional Asian influence. Its large windows overlook the Lido Pool area.
The Ocean Bar surrounds the central atrium on
Promenade Deck. It has a small stage and dance floor.
The Pinnacle Bar is as the name implies the bar
for the Pinnacle Restaurant. Its central location,
however, makes it an attractive bar for people who
are not dining in that restaurant as well.

Recent movies are shown in The
Screening Room. Inspired
