The main show lounge on Carnival Valor is the Ivanhoe
Lounge. Named after the hero in Sir Walter Scott's novel, the
room echoes the days of knights in shining armor. The stage is
framed by a medieval castle, statues of knights uard the entrance
ways to the theater and stained glass decorates the interior .
This lounge holds 1,400 guests and is the venue for the ship's
production shows and for featured guest entertainers. Like a
Broadway theater, the stage features a revolving section and the
orchestra pit can be raised and lowered.
The room is also used for activities that draw a large crowd such
as bingo and the disembarkation talk.
The large onboard casino is called the
Shogun Club Casino and is
styled after the knights of Imperial
Japan, complete with actual suits of
The casino is well-equiped with
gaming tables, electronic gaming and
more than 300 slot machines.
Part of the Casino complex is the Dream Bar. In addition, it
features live music.
The American Bar is at the lobby level of the
American Atrium. Since it is at the center of the ship, it
is a good place to wathc the world go by. Alternatively,
one can listen to the live music in the evenings.
Valor's nightclub is the One Small Step Dance Club. Its
name is taken from the statement Neil Armstrong's made when he
became the first man to walk on the Moon. Accordingly, the room
uses a pale granite to recall the surface of the moon complete with
footprints. Overhead are renditions of the stars in the night sky.
The room has a bar as well as a dance floor. Numerous video
screens line the walls.
Paris Hot is the ship's jazz bar. It pays tribute to Josephine Baker, an
African-American, who achieved fame in Paris as a singer and dance in the
period between the two wordl wars.
The sports bar on Valor is the Bronx Bar. It is dedicated to basball
hero Lou Gehrig. Accordingly, the decoration reflects the Old Yankee
Stadium with its unique facade. The bar stools are baseball bats while
the tables bear Gehrig's number on top of Yankee pin stripes.
The bar has video screens so that the guests can watch sporting events.
Winston's Cigar Bar recalls Sir Winston Churchill, who led Britain
during World War II. (Churchill was rarely seen without a cigar). This large
room is decoarted after a British gentleman's club with padded leather chairs
and murals depicting the British fleet.
The wine bar, Jeanne's, is dedicated to French heroine
Joan of Arc.
Lindy Hop is the ship's piano bar.
It pays tribute to Charles Lindberg
who was the first man to fly solo
non-stop across the Atlantic in the

and huge murals of New York
(Lindbergh's starting point) and Paris
The central piano is wrapped in
corrogated metal similar to that used
on Lindberg's plane and the bar stools
recall airplane propellors.
This popular venue remains open well
into the night.
The Eagle Lounge is Valor's second largest lounge and
has a bar, dance floor, and stage. It is used for
receptions, art auctions, karaoke and for adult comedy
Named after America's national bird, the decor of the
room follows an eagle theme including marquetry inlays
of eagles in the tables.
