Magic has two main dining rooms.
The Northern Lights Dining Room is located
amidships. It is only open for dinner and uses the same
dinner menu as Magic's other main dining room.
The lower level of the Northern Lights follows the
traditional passenger ship dining system. Each guest has
an assigned table at either the early or late seating. You
dine at the same table, at the same time, with the same
people and the same servers each night of the cruise. The
chief advantage is that you get to know your fellow guests
and your servers during the course of the cruise. The
upper level of this dining room follows a flexible dining
system called "Your Time Dining". Guests can come at
any time the restaurant is open. If there are no tables
available when you arrive, you are given a radio pager
which will inform you when the table is ready.
The larger Southern Lights Dining
Room is at the stern of the ship.
It is open to all passengers for
breakfast and lunch (sea days) on an
open seating basis. Guests tell the
hostess how many people are in the
party and she finds a suitable table.
For dinner, the Scarlet follows the
traditional two seating system
Sushi & More is, as the name indicates, a sushi bar. It is open in the
evenings and is complimentary.
Magic has a large buffet restaurant occupying a
large part of Lido Deck between the two
swimming pool areas called The
Marketplace. It is divided into several
stations each featuring different types of food.
Tables are along either side of the restaurant and
offer spectacular views over the surrounding area.
The Marketplace is open for breakfast, lunch and
The Prime Steakhouse is Magic's specialty
steakhouse. Unlike the steakhouses on earlier
Carnival ships, this venue is located not at the
top of the ship but rather amongst the public
rooms aft on Promenade Deck. While the
location is different, the fare is the same as on
other Carnival ships - - prime USDA beef,
seafood entrees and appetizers such as
escargot, shrimp cocktail and crab cake.
There is a cover charge for dinner.
The Plaza Café at the Ocean Plaza on Promenade Deck is a specialty
coffee shop serving lattees, cappuccinos, espresso and other coffees along
with cookies, cakes and premium ice creams (above).

Cucina del Captain is a dining venue that debuted on the Magic. In tribute to Carnival's Italian connections - - all of its
captains and most of its ships are from Italy - - the restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine. The decor recalls an Italian sea
captain's home with photos and paintings of ships and ship people. There is even a uniform jacket and cap hung on a peg as if the
captain had just stepped away for a moment. At lunch time this venue has a complimentary pasta bar. There is a cover charge for
