The largest entertainment venue on Legend is
Follies, which can accommodate 1,127 guests. It
is the scene for the ship's large Las Vegas-style
The room was inspired by legendary vaudeville
shows and revues such as the Ziegfeld Follies. It
is designed to look like a theater from the 1920s
some of which were designed to look like the
courtyard of an Italian villa.
Club Merlin is a large casino with numerous slot machines, traditional gaming tables and electronic gaming. It also has its own bar.
Designer Joe Farcus has explained the decor of this area: "For the casino, I turned to King Arthur and the Round Table and the character I choose was
Merlin, the magician. So, the casino is called Club Merlin. The interior is done like King Arthur's castle with massive columns, lion heads and mirrors on
the ceiling representing the magical time of Merlin."
Firebird Lounge is the ship's
second show lounge (capacity
348). It takes its name from
Russian legends and thus the
decor is in a traditional Russian
style. Russian artists were
brought in to paint life size
designs like those found on
Russian lacquer boxes.
The ship's two-level nightclub, Medusa's Lair,
was named after the Greek myth about a gorgan
with snakes instead of hair who could turn a man
to stone with a galnce. Accordingly, the room is
decorated with large faces that have electronic
snakes that light.
The Dream Team is a sports bar
with televisions for viewing sporting
events. It is decorated with
photographs of sports legends.
As is fitting for a jazz club, Satchmos
takes its inspiration from jazz great
Louis Armstrong. It is designed to
look like a bar from Armstrong's
hometown of St. Louis from the first
half of the 20th Century.
Billie's Piano Bar is done in an Art Deco
style and pays tribute to songstress Billie
The Odyessey Lounge takes its
inspiration from the Greek legend of
Odysses' journey home from the
The legend of the lost
continet of Atlantis is
memorialized in the Atlantis
Lounge. Once again,
ancient Greece provides
much of the decor.
Hwoever, separating the
seating are panels with
Pre-Raphaelite paintings of
the 19th Century. Of course,
those primarily British artists
