OVERVIEW

There is very little that is traditional aboard AIDAbella.  The
dining, the entertainment facilities, and the open decks are all
non-traditional.  AIDA has re-thought the concept of cruising and
re-engineered it in order to provide a new form of cruising.

This is not to say that AIDAbella lacks any facilities or amenities
that one finds on other contemporary cruise ships.  Rather, they
are presented in a different way, one that is in accord with the
relaxed, open style that AIDA offers.

Indeed, the interior of the Bella is largely an open space.  In the
public areas around the atrium, there are very few boundaries.
Instead, one area seems to flow into another.

Openness is very much an AIDA trait.  AIDA seeks to create a
club-like atmosphere on its ships.  Thus, the ships are not just a
method of transporting people from one port to another but a
convivial place for people to gather.

For example, with regard to dining, AIDAbella has three main
dining rooms.  Guests are not assigned to a specific dining room
but rather can choose to dine wherever they wish when they
wish.  For the most part, the tables are large so that guests who
arrive as strangers will meet new friends.

While casualness is the order of the day, there is nothing casual
about the ship's facilities.  For example, the non-traditional theater
is well-thought out and well-equipped.  Similarly, the ship's large
spa area is as luxurious as any afloat.

One of the surprising things about AIDAbella is that thee is so
much in a relatively small ship.  Bella is only 69,000 gross tons
but she offers just about everything that one finds on much larger
ships.  At the same time, perhaps due to the ship's open
architecture, AIDAbella does not feel crowded.

AIDAbella is very similar to AIDA's other Sphinx-class ships.
However, those familiar with these ships will notice that there are
occasional differences in decor as well as in the names of some of
the bars.

Like all AIDA ships, AIDAbella serves primarily the
German-speaking cruise market.  The ship's official language is
German and all of its programs and other publications are in
German.

The interior of AIDAbella is quite
modern, with clean functional lines.
AIDAbella has a traditional Reception
Desk (Rezeption)
(above) on Deck 5 and
next to it is the
Shore Excursions Desk
(Ausflug Counter)
(right).  However,
there are also shore excursion kiosks in the
more centrally-located atrium of the ship
(below).
In addition to offering the typical bus tour shore excursions,
AIDAbella offers more physically challenging shore excursions using
bicycles, segways and other equipment that the ship carries with it
from port to port.  Guests may sign up for sports-related  shore
excursions and onboard activities at the
Golf Counter (above left)
and other desks relating to specific sports.

Guests may also obtain information about other AIDA cruises at the
Future Cruise Desk (above right).
AIDABella's art collection tends toward the abstract and for the most part, blends with the modernistic decor.

Even the signage on the restroom doors
reflects a somewhat whimsical but
functional approach to interior design.
